Guy Penrod

Guy Penrod, born Guy Allen Penrod on July 2, 1963, in Abilene, Texas, is a renowned American gospel singer, songwriter, and actor. He is best known for his tenure as the lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band from 1994 to 2008. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his powerful voice and wide vocal range. Prior to joining the Gaither Vocal Band, Penrod worked as a session singer, collaborating with artists like Garth Brooks, Amy Grant, and Michael W. Smith. Penrod's solo career took off after his time with the band, with his first solo album Breathe Deep released in 2009. His other notable albums include Hymns(2012) and Worship (2014). In addition to his music career, Penrod has hosted the Gospel Music Showcase, a Daystar Television Network show focused on southern gospel music. He has also received multiple accolades, including a Grammy Award for his work with the Gaither Vocal Band.
