Killer Mike, born Michael Santiago Render on April 20, 1975, in Atlanta, Georgia, is an American rapper, actor, and activist. He gained recognition in the early 2000s with his appearance on OutKast’s "Snappin’ and Trappin’" and the Grammy-winning track "The Whole World." His debut solo album, Monster (2003), was followed by his involvement in various projects, including the I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind series and collaborations with artists like Big Boi and T.I. In 2011, he formed the influential hip-hop duo Run the Jewels with producer El-P, producing politically charged albums that received widespread acclaim. Beyond music, Killer Mike is an outspoken advocate for social issues, including race relations and systemic injustice. He also runs a barbershop and has made appearances in films and television. Killer Mike remains a prominent figure in both hip-hop and activism.
