Kontawa
Kontawa, born Abdu Hamid Said, is a Tanzanian rapper and songwriter who emerged in the Bongo Flava scene in 2019. He gained recognition with his debut song, "Sura Ya Baba," and has since released hits like "Champion," "Moyo," and "Daktari." Before venturing into music, Kontawa faced financial challenges, which led him to hustle on the streets, selling second-hand clothes and working various jobs. His musical career took off after he discovered his talent for rap, initially participating in rap battles and competitions. Kontawa later changed his stage name from A.B.A to Kontawa, a nickname given to him by his peers, and quickly gained a following due to his raw street storytelling and catchy tracks. His single "Champion," inspired by his experiences and fan support, became a massive hit, further propelling his career with remixes featuring notable artists like Nay Wa Mitego and Harmonize. Kontawa continues to make waves in the Bongo Flava genre, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and the success stories of global figures like Messi and Ronaldo.
