Ngwair, born Albert Mangwea, was a prominent Tanzanian hip-hop artist and a key figure in the Bongo Flava scene. Known for his distinctive freestyle skills and raw talent, Ngwair made significant contributions to Tanzanian hip-hop, particularly in the 2000s. His music often resonated with the struggles and experiences of everyday people, with tracks like "Ghetto Langu" and "Kimya Kimya" becoming anthems of the time. He gained widespread recognition for his powerful lyricism and was awarded the Tanzanian Music Award for Best Hip Hop Artist in 2005. Ngwair's influence remains strong even after his untimely passing in 2013, with many newer artists citing him as a major inspiration.
